18 year-old Sasha Nikyta Kam from Panama was crowned winnerof Miss Teen Universe 2012 Pageant, besting a dozen young ladies for the victory. Our very own Clarise Meria Obia was named 1st Runner-Up, with Julissa Castro of Costa Rica making it as 2nd Runner-Up.

Miss Dominican Republic 2012 Carlina Duran is actually a Mrs.

Miss Dominican Republic 2012 Carlina Duran dethroned because of Relationship Status. The woman recently named Miss Dominican Republic will have to relinquish her crown because she is married, organizers of the contest said. The rules state that those vying for the crown must be single. But Magaly Febles, director of the Miss Domincan Republic contest, said Tuesday it had been discovered that recent winner Carlina Duran was married in 2009.

Duran said in a statement read at a Wednesday night news conference that she had never lived with her husband. "In my daily life, Iremained like a single woman, without thinking of myself neither materially nor spiritually married," said the statement, read by her lawyer, Radhames Cornielle.

The statement also said the marriage was brief, and the couple had begun annulment proceedings. The statement didn't specify whether the annulment was finalized. Duran's statement called her decision to hide her marriage from the contest organizers the "fruit of my inexperience." Febles officially handed the crown to first runner-up, 24-year-old Dulcita Lieggi, at the news conference.

Janine Tugonon wins Miss Philippines Universe 2012

After finishing 1^st runner-up in last year’s Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Pageant, 22 year old Janine Marie Tugonon became on stronger this year by besting over the 29 other candidates last April 15, 2012 and hailed as Miss Philippines Universe 2012. Let us now meet and know her together with the other winners:

Why Janine? I say ‘Why not Janine?’ The 5’9″ Thomasian has been languishing under the shadows of the flashy Mary Jean Lastimosa since Day 1. And the time has come to claim what is rightfully hers based on factors outside our parameters for personal predictions and the like. After all, she snatched the higher rank last year. No Coca-Cola body or generous butt here, but a solid ballet built that gym trainer John Cuay can whip into much better shape in time for the international competition in December. Her face is not categorically pretty, but one that – with the right makeup and styling – could be trend-setting in a modern Brook Lee kind of way. Her mysterious eyes and (preferably) full smile project the type of no-nonsense beauty that can never be tagged as one-dimensional. Add to that her due diligence, sharp runway footwork & quick-thinking ability and we might just have a worthy follow-up to both Venus and Shamcey. As people say, luck comes in threes.

My unsolicited advice for her? Lose the stiff/monotonous delivery of reply during the Q&A. It’s best to show grace under pressure without losing the much-needed warmth and sincere spontaneity. Last night, her interview paled in comparison to how she did in 2011, while wearing a gown that looked more tacky than regal (it’s like a throw pillow was sewn on her chest). Nonetheless, I trust that she will be made over in all areas, this one included.

Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2012 is Carlina Duran

The new Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2012 is Carlina Duran (25) who competed as Miss La Vega. She stands 1.82m tall and will represent her country at the next Miss Universe Pageant. The runner-up was Miss Distrito Nacional, Dulcita Lieggi, while Caroline Hawa, Miss Santiago, finished in third place. The third runner-up was Alondra Pena who represented Peravia, and the fourth runner-up was Luz Quezada, who represented San Jose de Ocoa.

She's from the Dominican Republic so she will show up fierce and ready but I find her features very harsh. They should try to soften her look. So far I am not a fan but I've heard that's she's burns a stage up so I won't be surprised if she makes the cut at Universe.
