2009 was a significant year for April Love Jordan. It was then when she joined Binibining Pilipinas and made her mark by reaching the semifinals. But more than this placement, she found herself being appointed (by a different group) shortly afterwards as the Philippine delegate to the International Beauty and Model Festival 2009 held in Yunnan, China. She won the Grand Prize and became the very first winner of the said competition. While not a top-tier event, she was able to prove that she has the looks, the goods and the charm to wow an international audience.
Fast forward to 2012. She is now taking her chances for one last shot at big-time pageant glory by becoming an Official Candidate of Miss World Philippines 2012. Could this be the culmination of a lifelong dream of representing the country in one of the grand slam titles? If fate has it in her direction, then she should be able to harness all the acquired learning, experiences and tricks of the trade to her advantage and possibly make a worthy successor to Gwendoline Ruais.
